JANUARY NEWS

(1/29/12) Schedule update: Jac will be teaming back up with Vern Wasson to pilot his Wasson Motorsports #5 Sprint Car in Georgia and Florida. The action packed February schedule of 10 races will start out Screven Motor Speedway Feb 10 and 11 with the All Star Sprints. The action will then shift to Volusia Speedway Park for five straight nights of racing Feb 15-19, the first two nights under the All Star Sprint banner, and the last three nights World of Outlaws. The action down south will wrap up with 3 nights of All Star Sprint racing at Ocala Feb 23-25...

The Wasson #5 will be powered by Don Ott engines in 2012, with Jeremy Bitner serving as crew chief. The car carries support from Gary's Motor Mart, XXX Race Company, Don Ott Racing Engines, and Top Flight Wings. We'll have more info, plus photos of the car soon, so check back!

(1/17/12) Jac won his heat and finished 4th in the feature on his qualifying night - which gave him enough points to start on the outside pole of the second B-Main on Saturday. Unfortunately, things did not go his way in the B... after banging wheels with another car, his #71 Indy Race Parts Midget got turned on its side and the team couldn't get the flat tire repaired in time to make it back out... Sheldon enjoyed his Chili Bowl debut. He didn't make it out of the preliminary races on Saturday afternoon, but it was a good experience for him, racing against 260 other Midget drivers....

(1/9/12) Chili Bowl update:
Sheldon is now driving a team car to Jac at the Chili Bowl! Through some anonymous donations collected yesterday in Tulsa, enough money was raised to put a fourth Bernie Stuebgen owned Midget in the Chili Bowl. Sheldon drove through the night and arrived in Tulsa in time to take some hot lap sessions today. He will qualify tomorrow night. Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible!

(1/5/12)
We're now less than a week away from the running of the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals in Tulsa, OK! 261 entries have been received thus far for the event, which runs Tuesday through Saturday. Jac is scheduled to qualify on Friday night. The Saturday night finale will be broadcast on CBS Sports a couple weeks after the event (more info later).... Lastly, be sure to check out the new Haudenschild Chili Bowl shirt - it's going to be a 'must have' shirt! It will be avialable in the R&R Racewear booth at the Chili Bowl trade show January 10-14. IF there are any shirts remaining after the Chili Bowl, they may become available on the website. <SHIRT>
